Embedding Gallery1 into Joomla / Mambo

It is recommended that you download the lates version of Gallery1 from the Gallery Project site.
Make sure that Gallery works standalone and you are able to create albums, upload images etc.

TipIf you like to use the Gallery images in your Joomla/Mambo content (either with the mosimage mambot or editor), place Gallery's albums directory in your Joomla/Mamboroot/images/stories/ directory or create a symbolic link when you have shell access to your server.

The Component embedding Gallery into Joomla / Mambo is included in the Gallery package (gallery/contrib/joomla or gallery/contrib/mambo directory) or as a Zip file at the end of this article.

Mambo 4.5x, Joomla 1.x and Gallery 1.5.x:
You will find a HowTo.txt from Jens Tkotz in your Gallery directory gallery/contrib/joomla or gallery/contrib/mambo.

Hello,
this a description what you have to do to integrate Gallery 1.5 into Joomla / Mambo 4.5+

- Install Jooma / Mambo
- Install Gallery 1.5
- Go to the Joomla / Mambo component Management and "install" Gallery as a Joomla / Mambo component.
Enter the directory that has the gallery.xml file in it
  (eg. /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/contrib/joomla)
- Go into the component/gallery backend and fill in the location of the gallery component
  (eg. /home/mysite/public_html/gallery)
- Specify the minimum Joomla / Mambo admin level required to gain editor access to the gallery
- Edit your main menu and add a new Component item.  Select Gallery from the list of available components.
Joomla / Mambo should do all the work of generating the link for you.

Note: Gallery will use the Language corresponding to the Country Locale specified by Joomla / Mambo.

Because of the new XML-Installer of Mambo 4.5.1 the Component files from Gallery 1.4.4-pl2 don`t work with Mambo 4.5.1
This problem is fixed in Gallery 1.5

Mambo 4.5.1 Gallery 1.44:
- Install Mambo (v4.5.1)
- Install Gallery (v1.4.4)
- Go to the Mambo component Managment and "install" Gallery as a Mambo component using the zip file attached to this site.
- Go into the component/gallery backend and fill in the location of the Gallery component. (eg. /home/mysite/public_html/gallery)
- Specify the minimum Mambo admin level required to gain editor access to the Gallery.
- Edit your main menu and add a new Component item.  Select Gallery from the list of available components.

You are now able to admin the Menalto Gallery via the Mambo frontend when logged on as a privileged user. The abminlevel for administrating the Gallery is configurable by the Backend - Components - Gallery.
